I think so? I have just been seeing it come up quite a bit lately in regards to more esoteric things such as astrology and tarot. |

That's partly it, as well as astrology. |

athenegoddess | That would be like the Queen of Wands. She is feminine energy which is always water, but this feminine energy manifests itself as fire. |
soren | also, its said that if someone is lacking an element they will try to compensate balance by being more like that element which they lack |
athenegoddess | Another example. All humans when they are born on earth are given a birth chart, but its not their true self. Their true self is represented by the heliocentric chart. So everyones true self is pretending to be something they aren't for soul growth. Like when Shakespeare stated, "all the world is a stage and all men and women play their part' http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/28900.html I for one am fire pretending to be water.

Abc333 | I lack fire in my chart, I'm an air sun sign that is largely comprised of earth and water, so would it be something referencing me specifically? What does it mean to pretend to be fire? Does it mean to pretend to have drive? |
Brontex | Fire and water are also two of the primary schools/aspects of Taoist meditation and play heavily in things like internal alchemy. Not related to astrology, exactly, but it might be something to look at if you're bumping into the terms in a more general esoteric context. |
